When you publish content, it is downloaded by the Canvas and cached until its scheduled time. Content downloaded to a Canvas contributes to the amount of "used space". Canvases perform best when using less than 50% of their available hard drive storage.
Reviewing Canvas Storage
To review current storage capacities:
- Click "Canvases" in the left sidebar to see your list of Canvases.
- Click on the target Canvas to launch the Canvas drawer.

- Scroll down to the 'Storage' section.

Automating Storage Cleanup
You can automate storage cleanup to keep your Canvas running at peak performance. By default, Canvases have a target storage threshold of 50% and a maximum threshold of 70%. This means that once a Canvas reaches 70% of its used space, it will begin to automatically delete files from its hard drive, starting with the oldest files first, until it reaches the target threshold.
To define storage thresholds for automatic cleanup:
- Click "Canvases" in the left sidebar to see your list of Canvases.
- Click on the target Canvas to launch the Canvas drawer.
- Click the "Advanced Settings" button, located in the top right of the Canvas drawer.
- Scroll down to the 'Storage' section.
- To modify when the Canvas begins deleting files, click into the ‘Max. threshold’ field and type in a new value.
- To modify when the Canvas stops deleting files, click into the ‘Target threshold’ field and type in a new value.
