Overview

This release introduces a new content type—Layouts—enabling users to create, manage, and schedule custom layouts directly to their devices from Portal3. Powered by Creative Studio, this new capability brings greater design flexibility to your content and streamlines the content scheduling workflow.

Highlights

• New Layouts Page: A dedicated page in Portal3 enables users to view and manage all Creative Studio layouts in one place.

• Creative Studio Integration: Layouts are built using Creative Studio, where users can design multi-layered content with shapes, images, videos, playlists, iFrames, and widgets (weather, YouTube, countdown, date/time).

• Search & Filter Support: Layouts can be searched and filtered like other content types, making it easy to find specific designs.

• Scheduling to Devices & Walls: Layouts can be scheduled to all devices and Walls, just like standard content assets.

• Batch Actions: Users can apply bulk actions such as scheduling or deleting layouts for faster management at scale.

Creative Studio Features 

• Artboard Customization: Grid, rulers and resolution pre-sets (landscape, portrait square, 4K).

• Custom Resolution: Modify artboard settings to create the exact sized content you need, without limitations.

• Text & Media Layout Tools: Add and style text, images, videos, and playlists.

• Text Customization: Expanded font options from Google Fonts integration.

• File Management: Save, preview, and manage layout files.

• iFrame & URL Content: Display content from a URL directly in the layout.

• Dynamic Widgets: Add widgets to layouts that update dynamically when scheduled.

  • Countdown / Countdown Widget: Set a target date & time to display a countdown or count-up to the target.

  • Date & Time Widget: Display the date and/or time on content that updates dynamically based on defined parameters.

  • Weather Widget: Display weather for one or more locations on-screen.

  • YouTube Widget: Embed YouTube videos into your layouts to showcase any publicly available video.
