When devices are purchased from Videri, a corresponding number of licenses is added to the account. These licenses are managed by Videri account administrators within the account’s available license pool. For a device to be operational, it must have an active license.
A license becomes active only when it is assigned to a device. For example, if an account has 40 licenses and 30 devices are provisioned, 10 licenses remain available. Any newly provisioned devices will obtain a license from the available licenses pool. If a device is provisioned and a license is not available, you will be requested to provide payment. Failure to respond to the invoice in a timely manner will result in the device being deactivated.
In some cases, you may need to provision a new device to replace an existing device. In these cases, you can submit a written request to your Videri account representative for license reassignment. Reassigning a license does not reset its expiration date. Once a license is removed from a device, that device will be deactivated.
Devices are also deactivated when their assigned license expires. As of April 2026, license expiration is based on the contractual expiration date rather than the activation date. License terms may be 1 year, 3 years, 5 years, or unlimited, depending on your Videri agreement. The contractual expiration date is typically calculated as 90 days plus the license term, unless otherwise specified in your contract.
For more information about device deactivation, see Device Deactivated Due to License Issue. If you have any questions about licensure or billing, contact your Videri account representative.
