Configuring Basic Device Settings

Renaming a Device

To rename a device:

  1. Click "Devices" in the left sidebar to see your list of devices.
  2. Click the target device to open the Device drawer.
  3. Hover over the device name in the top left of the device drawer. Click the name to highlight it.
  4. Type the new name and hit "Enter" (Windows) or "Return" (Mac) on your keyboard.

 

Changing Device Timezone

NOTE: By default, the timezone of a device will be defined by the device that was used to provision it. The device timezone will coincide with the local time where it is located. If needed, you can change the device timezone.

To change the timezone of a device:

  1. Click "Devices" in the left sidebar to see your list of devices.
  2. Click the target device to open the device drawer.
  3. Click on "Details".
  4. In the 'Timezone' field, click on the dropdown to view a list of a available timezones. You can also type in the dropdown field to filter for timezones.
  5. Select the target timezone. 

 

Changing Canvas Orientation

WARNING: By default, Canvases use a sensor to define what orientation they are installed in. A Canvas hung portrait will display content in portrait. A Canvas hung landscape will display content in landscape. We do not recommend changing the orientation from "sensor". However, orientation can be changed if needed.

To change Canvas orientation:

  1. Click "Canvases" in the left sidebar to see your list of Canvases.
  2. Click the target Canvas to open the Canvas drawer.
  3. Click the "Advanced Settings" button located on the top right of the Canvas drawer.
  4. In the 'Orientation' field, click on the dropdown to see a list of available options.
  5. Select the orientation for the Canvas.

 

Moving a Device to a Different Workspace

TIP: You can re-assign a device to another Workspace without having to reprovision it.

To move a device to another Workspace:

  1. Click "Devices" in the left sidebar to see your list of devices.
  2. Click the target device to open the device drawer.
  3. Click on "Details".
  4. In the 'Workspace' field, click on the icon to launch the Workspace selector.
  5. Select the target Workspace and click "Assign Device".

 

Tagging a Device

To tag a device:

  1. Click "Devices" in the left sidebar to see your list of devices.
  2. Click the target device to open the device drawer.
  3. Click on "Details".
  4. Click into the 'Tags' field.
  5. Begin typing to see a list of available tags or to create a new tag. Click on the tag from the list or click "+ Add as new tag" to tag the device.
