Adding a New APN Using Portal3

To add a new APN using Portal3:

1. Log in to Portal3.
2. Click "Canvases" in the left sidebar to see your list of Canvases.
3. Click on the target Canvas to open the Canvas drawer.
4. Click the “Advanced Settings” button in the top right of the Canvas drawer.
5. Click on the “Network” tab.
6. Scroll down to the 'Current cellular' section.
7. Click “Show Available APNs”.
8. Click “Add New APN” in the bottom right of the APN list.
9. Use the input fields to modify APN settings as needed. The following fields are available:
   

   Field name	Definition	Input type
   APN	“Access Point Name” defined by the carrier for the network connection	String
   APN type	Usage categories for the APN. An APN may support multiple APN types. The default type is “default”. NOTE: Multiple APN types can be selected.	Dropdown, available values: default: default data traffic mms: multimedia message traffic supl: secure user plane location assisted GPS dun: dial up network traffic hipri: high priority traffic fota: firmware over the air updates ims: IP multimedia subsystem traffic (voice, text, MMS over IP transports such as LTE/WiFi) cbs: carrier branded services traffic ia: initial attach APN emergency: emergency packet data network (PDN). Not an IA APN. Used for access to carrier services in an emergency call situation. mcx: mission critical services xcap: XML configuration access protocol traffic bip: bearer independent protocol traffic all: supports all of the above
   MCC	Mobile Country Code	Numeric, must be 3 digits
   MNC	Mobile Network Code	Numeric, must be 2-3 digits
   APN name	APN entry name	String
   Username	Used for authenticating the connection. Required if “Auth type” protocol is selected, see below.	String
   Password	Password associated with username, used for authenticating the connection. Required if “Auth type” protocol is selected, see below.	String
   Server	Address of the APN gateway server	String
   Proxy	Proxy address	String
   Port	Proxy port	String
   MMS proxy	Multimedia message (MMS) HTTP proxy address for connecting to MMSC server	String
   MMS port	Multimedia message (MMS) proxy port for connecting to MMSC server	String
   MMSC	Multimedia Messaging Service Centre (MMSC) URL, used for sending and receiving MMS messages	String
   Auth type	APN authentication protocol. Defaults to “none”. If a protocol is selected, username and password are required.	Dropdown, available values: None PAP: Password Authentication Protocol CHAP: Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol PAP or CHAP
   Protocol	Protocol to use to connect to APN. Defaults to “IP”.	Dropdown, available values: IP: IPv4 protocol IPV6: IPv6 protocol IPV4V6: Dual IP stack UE capability

10. To connect to the new APN, click “Save & Connect”. To save and return to the APN list, click “Save & Close”.
