| Provisioning is the process of connecting a new device to the Videri Cloud so it can receive content, schedules, and remote commands. Videri Ignite guides you through the complete provisioning process, with more detailed information provided below. |
Before You Begin
Before you begin, ensure you have a Videri account and Videri Ignite installed on your mobile device. Make sure that the target device(s) are installed and powered on.
Videri devices support three connection options:
Wi-Fi — the most common option. You'll be asked to select a network and enter the password during the flow. Suitable for most indoor installations on a managed Wi-Fi network.
Ethernet (wired) — used where a hard-wired network is available or required by IT policy. The device will detect the link automatically; you'll only need to confirm the connection in-app.
LTE / cellular — used where Wi-Fi or Ethernet aren't available, or for installations that need to run independently of site networking. Only Spark2 LTE devices support cellular connectivity and an active SIM/plan is required.
Connectivity options vary by device:
| Connection Option | Applicable To (Device) | What You Need |
| WiFi |
SparkQ+, Spark2 LTE, Spark3, Spark4, Spark5 SparkBridge, SparkBridge+ Videri Embedded TCL devices Videri Embedded AllSee devices |
An SSID without a landing page Network credentials* (SSID & password) *If the network has EAP security, you will need the EAP method, Phase 2 method, and account username, at minimum. |
| Cellular | Spark2 LTE |
A SIM card, installed in each device needing provisioning* An active LTE plan *For guidance installing a SIM card, check your Spark Canvas Installation Guide. |
| Ethernet |
SparkBridge, SparkBridge+ Videri Embedded TCL devices |
An ethernet cable establishing connectivity between the target device and the modem |
If you're not sure which option to use for a specific install, check with your administrator or your IT contact.
How To Provision
|
If you are provisioning a Videri Embedded TCL device, see Provisioning A Videri Embedded TCL Device for further guidance. If you are provisioning a Spark2 LTE device, see Provisioning Spark2 LTE Canvases for further guidance. For all other devices, continue reading. |
To provision a device using Videri Ignite:
On the Home Screen, tap "Set up a new device".
Tap "Get Started".
-
Select the target Workspace where the device should be provisioned and tap "Continue".
NOTE: If it is the first time you are provisioning a device, you'll be asked to enable Bluetooth and location sharing. You must enable these permissions in order to provision a device. For more information about permissions in Videri Ignite, see Logging In & Getting Started With Videri Ignite. -
The app will now search for nearby devices.
NOTE: Devices will appear on the "Nearby Devices" screen in order of their signal strength. Generally, devices that are closer to you have a stronger signal. If you are not seeing the device you want to provision, you may be too far from it. Move closer to the device and pull down on the screen to rescan for devices. If you are not seeing a previously provisioned device, it may have reprovisioning disabled or it may have already been provisioned to a different tenant. If reprovisioning is disabled, you will need to enable BLE from Portal3. See Enabling Reprovisioning for guidance. If the device belongs to another tenant, you will need to delete its profile from Portal3, or contact Videri Support to move the device for you. -
Select devices to provision:
To provision all nearby devices, tap "Provision all nearby devices".
To provision specific devices, tap "Select devices to provision". Devices will then display their serial number on-screen. Select the device(s) you want to provision and tap "Next" when finished.
-
The app will now search for available networks. Available networks will appear once found.
If you are provisioning a device using a wired connection, tap "Skip".
-
If using WiFi, select the target SSID and tap "Next".
NOTE: If you do not see the target SSID, tap "Enter details manually". Configure details as needed and tap "Next" when finished.
-
Enter the password for the chosen SSID and tap "Next".
NOTE: If you need to verify the SSID security type or enter details for EAP authentication, tap "Advanced Network Settings". Configure details as needed and tap "Next" when finished. Devices will now attempt to connect to the Videri Cloud.
Once all devices are connected, you will see a success screen and the post-provisioning checklist will be displayed. If you are an installer tasked with completing additional setup tasks—such as naming devices or configuring fallback networks—be sure to take those actions now, as they will no longer be available once leaving this screen. For further information, see Optional Post-Provisioning Setup.
