ℹ️ As of July 29, 2026, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is required to sign-in to the Videri platform. This guide walks through how to set up MFA and how to sign in to Portal3 with MFA.
Setting Up MFA
There are two ways MFA setup can be triggered:
Forced at login: Once MFA becomes required, the setup wizard appears automatically after you sign in. You cannot access the portal until setup is complete.
Voluntary from settings: You can also modify the setup at any time from User Settings → Security Settings tab → Multi-Factor Authentication.
The setup wizard steps are identical in both cases.
Step 1: Sign In
Go to the Videri Portal and sign in with your email address and password.
Step 2: MFA Setup Wizard Appears
If you are not yet enrolled, the MFA setup dialog appears immediately after your credentials are accepted, with the title "Set up Multi-Factor Authentication" and the prompt: "Choose how you'd like to receive your verification codes."
You cannot access the portal until setup is complete. To exit without setting up, click "Cancel and sign out".
Step 3: Choose a Verification Method
Select how you'd like to receive your verification codes:
Authenticator App: Use an app like Google Authenticator or Authy to generate codes.
Email: Receive a one-time code at your email address each time you log in.
Click "Continue".
Step 4: Verify Your Method
If you chose to use an Authenticator App:
Open your authenticator app (e.g. Google Authenticator, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator).
Scan the QR code displayed on screen. If you cannot scan it, tap "Can't scan? Enter this key manually" and enter the text key shown.
Enter the 6-digit code generated by your app in the 6-digit code field.
Click "Verify".
If you chose Email:
Check your inbox for a verification code from Videri.
Enter the code in the 6-digit code field.
Click "Verify". If the code has expired, click Resend to receive a new one.
Step 5: Save Your Backup Codes
You will be shown 10 one-time backup codes. These can be used to sign in if you ever lose access to your primary verification method.
Click "Copy all" or "Download (.txt)" to save the codes somewhere secure (e.g. a password manager).
Check the box: "I've saved these codes".
Click Done, "I've saved them" to complete setup and access the portal.
NOTE: Each backup code can only be used once. Store them offline or in a password manager. If you lose them and lose access to your MFA method, you will need a Videri administrator to reset your MFA enrolment.
Signing In with MFA
Step 1: Enter Your Credentials
Go to the Videri Portal and sign in with your email address and password as normal.
Step 2: Complete the MFA Challenge
After your credentials are accepted, an MFA challenge dialog appears.
Authenticator App: Open your app and enter the current 6-digit code shown for Videri.
Email: Check your inbox for a code and enter it in the field.
Click "Continue".
Step 3 (Optional): Switch Verification Method
If you have multiple methods enrolled, click "Use [method] instead" (e.g. "Use email instead") shown below the input field to switch methods.
Step 4 (Optional): Use a Backup Code
If you cannot access any of your verification methods, click "Use a backup code instead", enter one of your saved backup codes in the Backup Code field, and click "Unlock with backup code".
Account Locked
WARNING: After 5 consecutive failed verification attempts, your account will be temporarily locked for 30 minutes. The screen will display: "Your account is temporarily locked. Too many failed attempts. Try again in 30 minutes or use a backup code."
Options while locked:
Wait 30 minutes and try again.
Use a backup code if you have one saved.
Contact your administrator — they can clear the lockout immediately from the Portal.
Troubleshooting
Authenticator code not accepted: Codes expire every 30 seconds. Ensure your device's date and time are set to automatic/accurate.
Didn't receive an email code: Check your spam/junk folder. If still missing, click "Resend" in the dialog.
Lost access to my MFA method: Use a backup code to sign in, then re-enroll from User Settings → Security.
No backup codes remaining: Contact your Videri administrator to reset your MFA enrollment.
Account locked: Wait 30 minutes, use a backup code, or ask an administrator to clear the lockout.
